WILL OF DRUSILLA STARIE, NEEN SOLLARS, 1756

 

In the Name of God Amen I Drusilla Starie of the Parish of Neen Sollars in the County of Salop and Diocese of Hereford being of sound and disposing mind do make this my last Will and Testament.

And first I bequeth my soul into the hands of Almighty God trusting through the merits of my blessed Saviour to inherit eternal life And my body to be buried at the
discretion of my Executrix herein after named. And as for my worldly estate I dispose thereof as follows.

I give, devise and bequeath unto my grandson Edward Wall all that my freehold messuage or tenement with the lands and appertenances thereunto belonging situated .. in the parish of Burford in the County of Salop aforesaid comonly called or known by the name of the Wood Farm now in the occupation of Samuell Dodd which said premises were formerly purchased by me of and from John Freeman Gent to hold unto my said grandson Edward Wall his heirs & assignes for ever subject to and chargeable with the payment of the sum of one hundred pounds and the interest thereof after the rate of four pounds by the hundred by the year from the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & forty five. To his sister Margaret Wall and also chargeable with an annuity or yearly sum of three pounds and ten shillings which I give to Elizabeth the wife of my grandson Thomas Wall half a guinea.

And all the rest and residue real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever after payment of my debts (if any there be) and funeral expenses. I give, devise & bequeath unto my daughter Martha Starie to hold to her my said daughter her heirs and assigns forever. And I hereby nominate and appoint my said daughter Martha Starie sole Executrix of this my last will hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof to this my last will I have hereunto put my hand and seal this fourteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty four. Drusilla Starie. Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Drusilla Starie for her last will and Testament in the sight and presence of us who at her request & in her presence have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto William Houghton, John Houghton Thomas Houghton.

Proved at Ludlow 2nd Nov 1756 before the Revd.& Wors. Joseph Browne D.D. Vicar General &C by the oath of Martha Starie spinster the sole Executrix in this will named to whom &C
