Be it remembered that I GEORGE STERREY of the parish of NEWENT in the County of Gloster being of sound mind, memory and understanding do make this my last Will and Testament and what it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with I give and bequeath in manner folowing. First I recommend my soul to Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of Executrix herein after mentioned I give and bequeath to JOHN CONSTANCE and JOHN HART of the parish of Longhope in the County of Gloster aforesaid the messuage or house, garden and premises, the land and all the appurtenances thereunto belonging wherein I live and occupy also a piece of pasture land, orchard, near or adjoining dwelling house which was given to me by father RICHARD STEPRY in trust to the aforesaid JOHN CONSTANCE and JOHN HART for the use and benefit of my wife MARY STERREY to have and to hold to my wife during her natural life, which aforesaid mentioned premises are situate lying and being in the parish of Newent in the County of Gloster aforesaid and immediately from and after my wife’s decease I give and bequeath to JOHN CONSTANCE and JOHN HART upon further trust for the use and benefit of my son CHARLES STERRY the aforesaid mentioned house, garden, and one half of the piece of land marked off by stakes, the further part adjoining the house and garden also the piece of pasture, orchard, which came to me by my father to have and to hold unto my son CHARLES STERREY his heirs and assigns for ever, my son CHARLES being subject to pay the following sums. To my daughter HESTER COOPER two pounds, to my daughter MARIA COOPER four pounds to my grand daughter HARRIET STERREY the natural daughter of my daughter MARIA two pounds, to my daughter CHARLOTTE STERREY six pounds, to be paid by my son CHARLES at the expiration of two years after the mother’s decease. I give and bequeath to my second son JERVIS STERREY, JOHN CONSTANCE and JOHN HART the one half of the piece of land, the further part from the dwelling house adjoining land in the occupation of MARY CHILD to hold to my son JERVIS his heirs and assigns for ever my son JERVIS paying to his sister ANN STERREY six pounds at the expiration of two years after the decease of the mother. I also give and bequeath to my wife MARY STERRY all my goods, chattels, money, effects and house hold furniture during her life she paying all my just debts and funeral expenses and after her decease I give and bequeath to my son CHARLES STERREY one bed, also one bed to CHARLOTTE STERREY and all the rest and residue of my personal estate to go to my two sons and four daughters to be equally divided share and share alike. I do nominate, constitute and appoint my wife MARY STERREY sole Executrix and JOHN CONSTANCE and JOHN HART Trustees of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking, making null and void all other Wills which have been heretofore by me made, declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and twenty four.

On which day appeared personally MARY STERRY of the parish of Newent in the county of Gloucester, Labourer and alleged upon oath that the foregoing paperwriting contains the last Will and Testament of GEORGE STERREY late of the same place Labourer who died on the seventh day of August now last past without having altered or revoked the same leaving personal estate wholly within the Diocese of Gloucester under the value of twenty pounds - that she is the sole Executrix named in the said Will - that she will well and faithfully perform the same and render an Inventory and account
