In the name of god Amen. In the year of our Lord god MDIIII I John Sterre of Bury Saynt Edmunds thatcher beying in good mydne make my testament in this wise following. Ffyrst I bequeathe my soule to God Almyghty to our Lady saynt mary and to all the holye companye of heven. And my body to be buryed in the holye sepulcure. Also I bequeth to the _______ for my tythes and offeryngs forgoten & to lytle payd XXd. I also bequeth to ye fryers of Pabwell XXd & also I bequeth to Margaret Sterr my daughter a pair of sheets & my hutche(?). Also I gevs to Isabell my wyfe myn house(?) that I dwelle in in the Byngare strete to give & to sell with all my movable goods. And she to reseyve(receive?) my detts and pay my detts. Also I require all my _______ that __ resides in my said house(?) that they shall delyver a lawful estate what so did(?) they be desired by the said Isabell my wyfe whom I ordayne & make mine executrix she to dispose for me to the plesing of god & for the helthe of my sohle.
