WILL OF JOHN STERRY, KIRKLEY,
SUFFOLK, 1795
In the name of God Amen I John Sterry of Kirkley in the County of Suffolk Innkeeper being of sound disposing Mind and Memory praised to God do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following That is to say I give and bequeath unto Rose my Wife all my Right and Interest and Term of Years which at the Time of my Decease shall be to come and unexpired of and in the Lands and Barn in my Occupation in Pakefield in the said County and Kirkley aforesaid And also all and singular my Household Goods and Furniture and Linen my farming Stock and Implements of farming Corn Grain Hay Cattle and all my ready Money Debts and securities for Money and all other my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever Subject in the first place to the payment of all my just Debts funeral and testamentary Expences And then further subject to the payment thereout of Ten pounds of lawfull Money to and for the purpose of apprenticing my son George to some Trade or Business when he shall attain his Age of fourteen Years And I nominate constitute and appoint [added in] my Wife sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other Wills by me at any Time heretofor made and confirm this to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal this ninth Day of August In the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and ninety five.

Signed sealed and published and declared by the said John Sterry as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us when at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses thereunto - an Interlineation of the Words "Constitute and appoint" being first made.

The Executrix was duly sworn at Gisleham on ye 23 of October 1795 before me M. Reynolds surrogate to the Office. The Personalty was set at fifty pounds.
