WILL OF PATIENCE STARIE, 1848, STOKE PRIOR

Will Patience Starie of parish of Stoke Prior spinster made 17 Aug 1846 ... in trust to William Newman of the borough of Leominster gent. the messuage in Stoke Prior and in the chapelry of Ford now in occupation of Thomas Starie, nephew. Everything else to him except the barometer which is in 'my said house'. After her decease to be sold and divided amongst John Joseph, William, George, Thomas, Mary, Harriet and Sophia [children of late brother Thomas Starie] in equal shares and also among Mary Ann and Henry [children of late brother John Starie deceased] in equal shares. Codicil dated 14 Jul 1847 to nephew Thomas Starie 'my secretary and bookcase standing in the parlour [together with all the books therein] my kitchen chairs and eight day clock my four post bedstead and beds with blue striped hangings patchwork ... and detailed items to niece Mary Ann Starie ... Sworn under £100. Testator died in Jan 1848. Proved Stoke Prior 27 Dec 1848
