WILL OF THOMAS STARY, TENBURY, 1683

 

In the name of God Amen
The third day of March one thousand six hundred eighty and two according to the computation of the Church of England Thomas Stary of Teambury in the County of Worcester Shoemaker being being of perfect memory and remembrance (praised be God) doe make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (viz.) Imp[rimi]s I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Maker hoping that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my onely Saviour Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins. And as for my body to be buried in Christian buriall at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter nominated. It[em] I give and bequeath unto my wife Frances one piece of land called Truecraft and three acres of arrable land in the west field adjoyning to during her naturall life. And after her decease I give and bequeath the s[ai]d two parcells of land unto my son Thomas Starye and to his heirs for ever. It[em] I give and bequeath unto my wife Frances two acres of arrable land lying in the Rye field during her naturall life. And after her decease I give and bequeath the said two acres of land unto my son Samuel Stary and to his heirs for ever. It[em] I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Frances all the rest of my goods cattells and chattels and all moneys and debts whatsoever. And also do nominate and appoint her my beloved wife sole and whole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament she paying all my debts. In witness whereof I have herunto put my hand and seale the day and year first abovewritten. Memor[andum] before the ensealing herof I do give and bequeath unto my sonne Samuel the summe of five pounds and to be paid within one year after my decease. Thomas Stary.
