WILL OF THOMAS STERRY, LITTLE LONDON,
GLOUCESTERSHIRE, 1831

 
 In the Name of God Amen. I THOMAS STERREY of Little London in the parish of Longhope in the County of Gloucester mopstickmaker being weak of body but of a sound mind and perfect understanding do make this my last will and testament setting aside all wills I have at any time heretofore made I positively order this to be my last and I desire to be received by all as such.

First I give devise and bequeath to my daughter ANN SINDERBY wife of GEORGE SINDERBY of Notwood all that freehold messuage or tenement garden and premises situate at Blaisdon in the county of Gloster now in the occupation of JOHN DOBBINGS as tenant for her use and benefit for ever and her heirs likewise all the personal property that is in her possession of mine excepting the bed I now lie on which is my desire shall be given to my son GEORGE STERREY.

Secondly I give devise and bequeath to my son GEORGE STERREY of Little London all that copyhold messuage or tenement garden workshop and premises situate at Little London in the parish of Longhope in the county of Gloster for his use and benefit during his natural life and it is my will that he shall neither sell the premises nor mortgage it in any way and at his death I give it to my daughter ANN SINDERBY of Notwood for her use and her heirs for ever.

Also I give unto my son GEORGE STERREY all my personal property mopsticks xissels furniture which is in the premises at Little London. Also I give to my son GEORGE the piece or parcel of land on Huntly Common near Wm Wilces house joining lands of his for his use and benefit for his natural life and at his death I give it to my daughter ANN SINDERBY to her and her heirs for ever.

Also I give unto my son GEORGE STERREY all that peice or parcel of land on Notwood near Samuel Burchers and bounded by lands of his on one side and Notwood Common on the other for his use during his life and at his death I give it to my daughter ANN SINDERBY to her and her heirs for ever. But in case there should not be monies due or property sufficient to discharge my lawful debts it is my desire that one or both if needful of the last mentioned lots of land shall be sold or mortgaged to pay them at the discretion of my hereafter mentiond Executors.

Lastly I name xxxxxxxx daughter ANN SINDERBY Executrix and SAMUEL STERREY of Blaisdon butcher Executor of this my last will trusting that they will bury me decently and see this will fairly executed in witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty.
